Ami Canaan Mann has graduated to the big time. The daughter of director Michael Mann has made her silver screen debut as a director with the thriller Texas Killing Fields. Mann sat down with Movie Fanatic for an exclusive video interview to talk about her journey, Texas Killing Fields’ astounding cast and how she sought to bring screenwriter Don Ferrarone’s words to life. Don’t miss our exclusive video interview with Ferrarone!
Mann clearly has learned from the best. Her father has crafted some of the most visually and cinematically powerful works of our time. Mann chose to make her own mark in Hollywood and took her own path to get there. After graduating from the esteemed USC School of Cinema/Television, she took to the stage first, directing A Prayer for My Daughter. She then went on to write and direct for TV, including the wildly popular Friday Night Lights.
With Texas Killing Fields, she has made her own mark with a stunning look at a true story of a series of murders in Texas and how two detectives made it their life’s work to bring down the serial killer before he struck again.
