Top 10 Flops of 2011: Why Does Mars Need Moms?

Movie Fanatic has unveiled its Top 10 Movies of 2011, Top 10 Comedies of 2011 and Top 10 Action-Thrillers. But, we thought we’d take a moment to present to you the ten films that more than missed the mark. We present the Top 10 Flops of 2011 and feature their budget, and then their worldwide gross.

Now, our definition of a flop is a film that did not make money or made very little. Of course, one could argue that a flop could also be Green Lantern. That film cost $200 million and only made $219 million -- much less than expectations. But, strictly financially speaking, here are the Top 10 Flops of 2011:
10. Arthur: Cost $40 million, Earned $45.7 million
9. New Year’s Eve: Cost $56 million, Earned $54.9 million
8. I Don’t Know How She Does It: Cost $24 million, Earned $30.5 million
7. The Thing: Cost: $38 million, Earned $27.4 million
6. Anonymous: Cost $30 million, Earned $14.8 million
5. Happy Feet Two: Cost $135 million, Earned $115 million
4. The Rum Diary: Cost $45 million, Earned $21.6 million
3. The Big Year: Cost: $41 million, Earned $7.4 million
2. Conan the Barbarian: Cost $90 million, Earned $48.8 million
1. Mars Needs Moms: Cost $150 million, Earned $39 million
