Katherine Heigl not only stars, but is also a producer on the film that brings Janet Evanovich’s beloved character to life in One for the Money. Heigl stars as Stephanie Plum, the “everywoman” as Heigl told us yesterday that is endeared by millions. Our interview with her rolls out next week, but in the meantime, we have a hilarious new clip featuring legend Debbie Reynolds playing Plum’s grandmother who has her way with a turkey.
One for the Money arrives January 27 and follows Plum, desperate for cash, as she takes a job as a bounty hunter for her cousin. Her first gig: Tracking down the man who did her wrong in high school, Joe Morelli (Jason O’Hara). She gets help in the form of a hunky fellow bounty hunter Ranger (Daniel Sunjata). The budding love triangle that is further explored in the subsequent literary sequels is only hinted at in One for the Money (check out three new stills).
As there are 18 Stephanie Plum books, if the first film scores, count this as Heigl’s first franchise.
