Catching Fire: Francis Lawrence Offered Directing Gig

by at . Comments

After all the speculation, and a Movie Fanatic poll, it appears that Lionsgate is offering the job of director of Catching Fire to Francis Lawrence. The helmer of I Am Legend, Constantine and most recently Water for Elephants is an interesting choice. With his grasp of drama, romance and sci-fi… this could be a very good call for the franchise. Many have felt that Alfonso Cuaron was the best choice, but with so little time to get organized before filming begins this fall, looks like the studio had to bust a move.
