MTV Movie Awards: The Hunger Games, Bridesmaids Lead Nominations

by at . Comments

The nominations for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards have just been unveiled, and not surprisingly for the hip annual event, some of the year's biggest blockbusters are up for the most honors.

The top prize, Movie of the Year, pits The Hunger Games against Breaking Dawn Part I and the final, epic Harry Potter film, with Bridesmaids and The Help rounding out the nominations.

Those films will also battle it out in other categories, most notably with leads Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson and Kristen Wiig are scoring nominations for Best Female Performance.

The Cast of Bridesmaids

Daniel Radcliffe and Josh Hutcherson also received nods for Best Male Performance this year, along with Ryan Gosling (Drive), Channing Tatum (The Vow) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (50/50).

Other categories at the MTV Movie Awards include Best Dirtbag, Best Kiss, Best Gut-Wrenching Moment and Best Fight ... not exactly the Academy Awards here, but it can be a lot of fun.

Curious about which of your favorite films scored obvious or arbitrary nominations? It's a who's-who of box office stars and hits. Here's the full list of nominations for the 2012 MTV Awards:
