Django Unchained Makes a Last Minute Addition: Jonah Hill to Join the Cast

by at . Comments

Tarantino, at the buzzer! For 3! Yes! (You were all reading that in a Marv Albert voice, right?)

With all the up-and-down casting news that has been swirling around the production of Django Unchained for the past several months, the "in, then out" comedy star Jonah Hill (21 Jump Street) is reportedly back in.

Jonah Hill Joins Neighborhood Watch

Hill was apparently offered a role in the film, but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming comedy The Watch (have a look at The Watch red band trailer). Now that conflict seems to have passed. There is no word yet on who Hill will play, or if it will be the same role he was originally touted for.

This is certainly a last-minute addition, as the film is due for release on Christmas Day of this year. In fact, there has already been a pretty in-depth Django Unchained trailer that seems to suggest most of the film has been shot.

Django Unchained Quotes

Calvin Candie: White cake? Dr. King Schultz: I don't go in for sweets, thank you.
Calvin Candie: Are you brooding 'bout me getting the best of ya, huh?
Dr. King Schultz: Actually, I was thinking of that poor devil you fed to the dogs today, D'Artagnan. And I was wondering what Dumas would make of all this.
Calvin Candie: Come again?
Dr. King Schultz: Alexander Dumas. He wrote "The Three Musketeers." I figured you must be an admirer. You named your slave after his novel's lead character. If Alexander Dumas had been there today, I wonder what he would have made of it?
Calvin Candie: You doubt he'd approve?
Dr. King Schultz: Yes. His approval would be a dubious proposition at best.
Calvin Candie: Soft-hearted Frenchy?
Dr. King Schultz: Alexander Dumas is black.

[Cocks rifle] Who's that stumblin' around in the dark? State your business or prepare to get winged.
