Ryan Guzman and Kathryn McCormick each had to overcome huge obstacles to flourish as they do in the Step Up Revolution cast. The film’s two leads are at the heart of the story and a budding romance. They both arrived on the Miami set with a question mark in two very important areas, they tell Movie Fanatic exclusively in our video interview.
"We were both in a position that we had never been put in before," McCormick said. "We were both intimidated by the things that we had never done before -- acting for me and dancing for him."
Guzman was an MMA fighter with a penchant for acting who had to learn to dance and McCormick was a So You Think You Can Dance veteran that needed to grasp the art form known as acting and emoting onscreen.
Together they triumph in a story about how a dance ensemble known as "The Mob" proves that when we come together to dance in a Step Up Revolution flash mob, meaningful change can arise.
