Halloween: The 1978 classic launched a wildly successful horror franchise, and introduced America one of the most terrifying horror movie slashers ever created in Michael Myers. Halloween beat one of the most major works of horror ever made, Psycho, 60.2% to 39.8%, to move on to round 2. Check out our Halloween quotes page for more.

Scream: Wes Craven's 90's meta-horror masterpiece reignited a dying genre by turning it in on itself, replacing the camp of the 80's with a polished self-acknowledgement that would define horror from that point on. Scream bested Friday the 13th by just a few votes to move on to the second round. Check out our Scream quotes page for more.

Scream Quotes

Stuart: I wanna see breasts. I wanna see Jamie Lee's breasts. When do we see Jamie Lee's breasts?
Randy: Breasts? Not until "Trading Places" in 1983. Jamie Lee was always a virgin in horror movies. She didn't show her tits 'til she went legits.

Casey: Who's there?
Ghostface: Never say "who's there?" Don't you watch scary movies? It's a death wish. You might as well come out to investigate a strange noise or something.
