The nominations have been announced for the 28th Independent Spirit Awards! The announcement marks the second major piece of news out of this year's Awards Season, following the People's Choice Awards nominations earlier this month.

The Independent Spirit Awards are dedicated to independent filmmaking, so unlike the People's Choice Awards, you won't be seeing much Avengers or Hunger Games here. Scroll down to check out the full list of nominees, and stay tuned for the winners, which will be announced on February 23, 2013.
