Jason Statham Movies: Snatch the Winner?

by at . Comments

Jason Statham sure has amassed quite a fan following since he debuted on screens in Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The action star is back with what he hopes is a new franchise that is shown off in the latest Parker trailer. The film, based on the book series by Donald E. Westlake, features its titular character as a criminal who only "steals from people who can afford it and only hurts people who deserve it." You know, he's a hood with a moral compass! Sounds like a perfect role for Statham.

Safe Star Jason Statham

The actor has amassed a long list of films for someone who only started acting after his Olympic diving career ended, something he told us about in our Jason Statham interview.

Statham is considered the next generation action star following in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis, his The Expendables quotes-toting co-stars! Judging by the below list of his films... he is well on his way to taking their mantle. What's your favorite Statham film? Ours is, hands down, Snatch! Now's your choice to vote for yours.

Jason Statham was born in London and initially started his career in driving, placing 12th in the World Championships in 1992.  Statham began to move into his acting career starting as a model for companies such as French Connection.

In 1998, Statham made his film debut in Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.  Statham would quickly find movie fame, with a second Guy Ritchie film, Snatch, in 2000 and roles in Ghosts of Mars and The One in 2001.

Beginning with 2001, Statham became a big name in action movies proving he was more than just Guy Ritchie's favorite star, when he starred in The Transporter in 2002 and its followup in 2005.

Since then, Jason has had an impressive film resume that includes several successful movies that keep yielding sequels including The Italian Job and Crank.  Don't expect Statham's career to slow down anytime soon.
