Star Wars franchise:

For those who think that Star Wars is a lock to win the Tournament of Movie Fanatic Franchises Bracket, think again. Fans of the George Lucas spawned blockbuster series need to be motivated and help channel The Force to secure the title of Best Franchise that is rightfully Star Wars’.

Those Ghostbusters fans are rocking this tournament and its momentum is powerful.

But, we all know that The Force is strong with Star Wars and its five subsequent films. Lucas changed Hollywood forever when the first Star Wars premiered in 1977. It is the quintessential franchise that all other franchises are modeled after.

With news that Disney is planning Star Wars stand-alone films (such as one on Han Solo) and that J.J. Abrams is directing Star Wars Episode VII, signs of this powerhouse franchise slowing down are non-existent. Check out some Star Wars quotes for more.

James Bond Franchise:

The long-running British spy series has presented the world with some of the most memorable movie moments in history. After crushing its opponent, The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, in round 1, Bond just barely eked out a victory over Star Trek to make it to the semi-finals.

Now, 007 faces an even tougher sci-fi opponent. But the series that defined the spy genre makes a great case for being crowned the best franchise ever. Not only have a plethora of excellent actors taken turns at the iconic character, but the supporting cast throughout the years has been nothing but stellar.

The latest installment, Skyfall, currently sits as the 7th highest-grossing film of all time, worldwide. That right there is a great indicator of Bond's popularity. Check out some Bond movie quotes for more.
