The premise of Paul Landesman’s Parkland is quite simple, it follows the people you don’t know about and that awful day in 1963 when President Kennedy was shot. Yet, although the idea is basic, the scope could not be more dramatic. Parkland has released its official trailer, fresh off the first Parkland stills that were released last week.
Parkland is based on the book Four Days in November by Vincent Bugliosi, and the film stars Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thornton, Marcia Gay Harden, Billy Bob Thornton and Paul Giamatti.
Ever wonder about the people that history has told us were there that day in Dallas who played various parts in the JFK assassination? Parkland reveals their world and how that day changed them forever. For example, Giamatti portrays Zapruder, who has given us that historic grainy footage of the day Camelot closed.
Harden is a nurse at the titular hospital who was on duty when the president was brought in with a gunshot wound to the head. And Thornton plays the chief of the Secret Service who began the day with hope, and finished it with blood on his hands.
Parkland lands in theaters September 20.
