Bryan Singer was an esteemed guest at the Fantasia International Film Festival… the fest even gave him his own night. An Evening with Bryan Singer produced some serious teases when it comes to the filmmaker’s latest effort, X-Men: Days of Future Past.
So, in order to get a fuller picture of how this highly anticipated sequel is taking shape, begin with the X-Men Days of Future Past cast shocks Comic-Con news, toss in Singer explaining the X-Men timeline and add a sprinkle of the Fantasia news… and things are seriously taking shape.
We know that Quicksilver will be in the film, judging by this Singer Quicksilver Twitpic, but he admitted that his frequent collaborator, Scarlet Witch, will not be in his film. Quicksilver will be played by Evan Peters and Singer confirmed that Josh Helman will be portraying the young William Stryker.
But, what got us the most of what Singer had to say about his sequel to X-Men: First Class was how Xavier manages to return to the X-Men world. “He transferred his consciousness and could possibly construct a body around that consciousness,” Singer admitted.
Sure, we can take it for granted that we saw him at the end of The Wolverine, but with his character supposedly gone from this earth, Singer’s explanation for how he actually got to that airport to meet Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine makes a whole lot more sense.
