As the Morgan Spurlock-directed One Direction: This Is Us passes the $50 million mark in global grosses, Sony has announced that an extended cut of the film will hit theaters this Friday. Over 20 minutes of previously unreleased footage will be included with four new songs not included in the original edit of the concert doc. Perhaps there will be new scenes that are as popular to our readers as this One Direction: This Is Us clip featuring a shirtless Harry Styles.
Fans of the British boy band can tweet to them with the hashtag @1DThisIsUs and request which songs left out of the original version they would like to see make the One Direction: This Is Us – Extended Fan Cut.
Jeff Blake, Chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures, is clearly pleased with how his company’s doc is doing. "We're overwhelmed by the response to the film, so we’re thrilled to be able to release this extended cut of the film for One Direction fans,” he said. After visiting the above hashtag, Blake said that followers can “go to the theater on Friday to see and hear which songs make the cut."
