When it comes to characters that seem like those who would effortlessly get into the Christmas spirit for their own holiday movie, Tyler Perry’s Madea is probably nowhere near the top of anyone’s list.
But, given that the humor comes fast and furious in Madea movies, A Madea Christmas promises to be a comedy for sure, and may provide more heart than one would expect.
A Madea Christmas teaser trailer first previewed the idea, and now Lionsgate has released a trailer that is twice as long and fills in more of the blanks of the story. Perry’s alter ego Madea heads into the deep South -- which would explain why Larry the Cable Guy is in a Madea movie -- where she will celebrate Christmas with her friends’ daughter and her boyfriend’s family.
What this A Madea Christmas poster led us to believe was an interesting concept for a holiday film, the movie’s latest teaser has us believing this could be a surprise holiday hit when it lands December 13.
