Fresh off of yesterday’s premiere of the Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit poster, Paramount has premiered the action film’s first trailer. Chris Pine is set to embark on his next franchise (after Star Trek) with the film series based on the iconic character created by author Tom Clancy. The arrival of this teaser also reminds us how brilliant the author was and how he will be missed after his passing yesterday.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor) and features Pine stepping into the movie role made famous by Harrison Ford (and then I guess Ben Affleck).

We have to say Movie Fanatic wasn’t sure about a reboot on this particular series, but watching Pine at work with co-stars Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner, the film that is due December 25 has us seriously intrigued.
