The first trailer for Jason Reitman’s follow-up to Up in the Air has arrived, and one can see why it’s getting a limited release December 25 before opening wide January 31. Labor Day has Oscar potential all over it, and we’re glad to see it’s opening prior to the end of the year so it can be considered.
Josh Brolin stars in what looks on the outside to be one of his more haunting roles. Kate Winslet is a reclusive mother to a 13-year-old boy who convinces her to take in a stranger (Brolin) in need of help. Needless to say, that doesn’t appear to go very well.
Labor Day also stars Tobey Maguire, J.K. Simmons, Clark Gregg (The Avengers) and James Van Der Beek.
