We first heard the excitement of one of the stars of X-Men: Days of Future Past in our James McAvoy exclusive interview. His thrill has not tamed with time, and in a recent interview, he is painting quite a picture of an epic in the making. "There’s an army of brilliant actors in that film," he said to IGN.
With the film series’ original director back, he promises something fans of the X-Men series have been waiting for since the series first premiered.
"Bryan Singer is back at the helm. Potentially it’s going to be the biggest, most epic X-Men they’ve ever had. I think it’s the second biggest production Fox have ever embarked upon, behind Avatar. So they’re definitely going for it."
And in a potential spoiler (you’ve been warned!), McAvoy details a scene he shares with the man who plays his character, Charles Xavier, as an older man. "His last day was my first day and that was it. Then we were done. But we did crossover and we do get a scene together,” McAvoy said.
Then, there’s who else his young Xavier gets to share screen time with… and it is, yes, epic!
“Getting to work with Hugh [Jackman] was great. Getting to work with Michael [Fassbender] again was great. I spent a hell of a lot of time with Nick [Nicholas Hoult]. Weirdly the people that I spent the most time with acting-wise was not Michael this time, it was Hugh and Nick. And whilst I bemoaned the loss of my buddy Michael, it was more than made up for by the fact that Hugh and Nick are such amazing people."
Well, there you have it. Xavier young and old and McAvoy’s young Xavier spending a lot of time with the man who just released his own movie, The Wolverine!
Is it May 23, 2014 yet? That’s when X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters.
