Duncan Jones is hard at work at pre-production for bringing the World of Warcraft video game to life in a big screen version that will be called Warcraft. Although he won’t start rolling cameras until early next year, clearly there has been a lot of thought put into the production.
Jones (Source Code, Moon) revealed some concept art at Blizzcon over the weekend, along with a few clues as to what to expect from his wildly anticipated film.
The helmer revealed that roles have been cast, although he did not give any details. But, he did say that the story will focus on “Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the original real-time strategy games. It’s been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan. Every time I meet an actor, I just try to squish his face.”
Given the fact that special effects head Bill Westenhofer has been a die-hard fan of the game for almost a decade, I’d say they’re in pretty good hands.
