As we reported earlier this week, the Batman vs. Superman release date has been moved from summer 2015 to summer 2016. The switch was made to make sure all the pieces of the puzzle were properly put together and to ensure director Zack Snyder would have time for a post-production process that could be lengthy to say the least. But, there’s also the thought that given the rumors that Snyder will helm a Justice League movie immediately after he’s done with Batman vs. Superman that could play into the delay.
We’ve got several of the pieces in place, including the obvious ones: Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. And then there’s the rumor that Dwayne Johnson will be Green Lantern! So, that Justice League is almost completely populated.
Now there’s one Justice League character that has an actor’s name being swirled around here in Hollywood and we could not be more thrilled at the prospect. Just say it out loud: Josh Holloway as Aquaman!
At the recent Television Critics Association, where Holloway was discussing his CBS hit Intelligence, he said that it was “cool to be considered, and that, like any actor with a pulse and a mortgage,” he would love to do it.
The problem is, as it would be with Stephen Arnell playing Green Arrow in The Justice League movie (with his demanding Arrow schedule), he is attached to a TV show.
"I’m in a series right now,” Holloway said. “I think they usually want to sign you up for several movies and I don’t know if you can do that when you’re committed to a series."
Tell us what you think.
Would Josh Holloway make a good Aquaman in The Justice League?
