Star Wars.com has just let us know that an Oscar winner has joined the previously announced Star Wars: Episode VII cast. And a Game of Thrones star too has just gotten The Force! Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams' currently shooting sci-fi epic, as well as Gwendoline Christie (you might recognize her as Brienne of Tarth on GOT).
"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII," said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. "It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."
She is joining Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow in the next big screen Star Wars movie. Oh, and there are a few other actors you might know in the flick as well -- Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.
Look for Star Wars: Episode VII to open worldwide on December 18, 2015.
