In a surprise move, yet not really if you think about how wildly popular the movie is, Disney’s Enchanted has had its sequel green lit. Enchanted stars Amy Adams as a classic Disney princess who gets sucked into the “real” world of New York City.

The film is incredibly beloved, and given its $340.5 million global box office gross, it’s kind of a surprise that it took seven years for Enchanted 2 to even show forward movement.

Simply revisiting these Enchanted quotes, it’s easy to see why the film is so adored. It is charming, romantic and hilarious.

Disney has signed screenwriters J. David Stern and David N. Weiss (Shrek 2, The Smurfs) to pen the screenplay and no word on whether Adams will return in the lead role or if the story will employ a new princess to tackle New York or some other great city.
