It’s a hard knock life for the cast of Annie, as Sony has debuted the film’s poster.
The Annie remake stars Jamie Foxx as a man who wants to be mayor of New York City. When he saves an orphan (Annie, played by Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis) from being hit by a van, the video goes viral.
His campaign staff (led by Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale) thinks that they can push this good will even more and suggests that Foxx’s Will Stacks invite Annie over for lunch. She plays him by telling him how much good publicity he’d get if she actually moves in – so she does!
Judging by the Annie trailer, the new version of the classic Broadway musical (which already had a film version in the '80s) has a more hip hop feel to it, and rightfully so. It rings true with more modern musical tones and messages that permeate throughout.
