Will Obi-Wan Get a Star Wars Spin-Off?

by at .  Updated at . Comments

We know two things for sure about those announced Star Wars spin-offs, one will be directed by Godzilla’s Gareth Edwards and the other by Chronicle’s Josh Trank. What we don’t know is who they will focus on.

Star Wars Alec Guinness

Rumors have them firmly placing a spotlight on the origins of either Han Solo, Boba Fett or Yoda. But, today we’re hearing another name added to the mix and it’s interesting to say the least.

How would you feel about an origins story or spin-off movie for the wisest of the wise -- Obi-Wan Kenobi?

There would certainly be a rich history there to choose from which would give us one thrilling journey that would probably take us up to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

And with such esteemed actors, such as Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor, playing the role previously, you know we could get someone outstanding to play him.

It’s a nice rumor, and we kind of like it. But, how about the idea of doing a spin-off movie on someone we’ve never heard of before?

While we wait for Star Wars: Episode VII to land December 18, 2015, vote now and let us know which Star Wars character you’d like to see a spin-off focus on!

Which Star Wars character should get a spin-off?

Star Wars Quotes

Padmé: [crying] Anakin, you're breaking my heart! And you're going down a path I cannot follow!
Anakin Skywalker: Because of Obi-Wan?
Padmé: Because of what you've done... what you plan to do! Stop! Stop now; come back... I love you!

Supreme Chancellor: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"?
Anakin Skywalker: No.
Supreme Chancellor: I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
Anakin Skywalker: He could actually save people from death?
Supreme Chancellor: The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Anakin Skywalker: What happened to him?
Supreme Chancellor: He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.
