You can imagine our thrills (and somewhat pause!) with the opportunity to witness the horror movie Ouija, based on the legendary board game, at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. What a perfect venue!
Then, we got to sit down with the leads Olivia Cooke, Shelley Hennig and Darren Kagasoff for an exclusive interview.
As teased in the Ouija trailer, Cooke plays a young woman whose BFF kills herself after playing the spooky game by herself. Cooke doesn’t believe it was suicide and with the help of her friends, uses the board game to talk to her spirit and discover the truth. It is then that they find that they have unlocked a horror much more sinister than they could ever have imagined.
We got the cast to reveal the scene in the film that truly spooked them, and also, what is it about horror movies that with all the horrors in the world coming at us on the evening news, that we still head into the dark and purposely scare ourselves.
“It’s a bonding experience,” Cooke teased.
Meanwhile, her co-star Hennig sees it as an opportunity to get closer to a special someone. “It’s also a good excuse for a guy to have a girl throw themselves on him!” she proudly stated.
Check out Ouija -- with someone you want to get close with -- when it hits theaters October 24.
