The SAG nominations were announced this morning and although it’s a pretty even field, Birdman led the way ever so slightly with four nominations. That Michael Keaton (who was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role) film was followed close behind by Boyhood, The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything with three nods each.

Birdman’s other nods came for Emma Stone for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (we so hope she gets an Oscar nod for this turn), Edward Norton for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture (the SAG’s version of Best Picture).

Other nominations of note were Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler and Steve Carell who scored a nod for his first dramatic turn in Foxcatcher. Jennifer Aniston also scored huge with a nomination for her powerful role in Cake and Rosamund Pike kept up her Oscar chances for her title role in Gone Girl.

Boyhood scored nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture as well as acting nods for Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette.
