After a super long wait with no stills or trailers, the Fantastic Four reboot has finally delivered and in a big way.
Fox released the first Fantastic Four teaser trailer and it introduces the world of Josh Trank (Chronicle) who is directing from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past). Given those two, this appears on paper to have a great chance of succeeding. Then, there’s the cast.
Miles Teller (fresh off his spellbinding turn in Whiplash) is Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara is Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan is Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) and Jamie Bell is Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Trank and Kinberg’s story will center on four young people who, through a series of events, wind up teleporting to an alternative and dangerous universe, which alters them in superhuman ways.
When they return to their world, they will discover that heroes are needed now more than ever and that heroism can come from the most unlikely of sources.
Fantastic Four is actually Marvel’s longest running superhero team and given the success that other collectives (aka The Avengers, X-Men) have had, Fox is surely hoping this reboot of their Marvel property has the same success as their hit from last summer (watch X-Men: Days of Future Past online).
Look for Fantastic Four in theaters August 7. And the first poster and a series of stills have also premiered too! Check them out in the slideshow below.
