There was some controversy last year about the rating or perceived rating that the erotic romance Fifty Shades of Grey was going to get or even what it was going for.
Some had reported that the E.L. James page to screen effort starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan was shooting for a PG-13 to put more people in the seats. That was met with a universal “boo” as fans thought that if anything to capture the spirit of the book, Fifty Shades of Grey needed to be rated NC-17.
The MPAA has seen the movie and given the film teased in this Fifty Shades of Grey trailer an “R” for strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language.
Whew, right? Can you imagine a film about a highly sexualized romance between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey not having any sex?!
Look for Fifty Shades of Grey on February 13, just in time for the most romantic day of the year -- Valentine’s Day!
