Walt Disney and Touchtone pictures have released a terrific behind-the-scenes featurette for the latest film from the mind of George Lucas, Strange Magic.
The film is inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream and was created by Lucas in his first film effort in years. What is so fascinating about the project is it is an animated musical love story that works for audiences of all ages.
The music for Strange Magic is a mash-up of some of the biggest hits from the last six decades, including tracks from artists as far-ranging as Bob Marley, Kelly Clarkson and Elvis Presley.
If this sounds a bit Moulin Rouge-ish, you wouldn’t be far off as the film’s score was overseen by the same person, Marius de Vries!
Strange Magic hits theaters tomorrow (stay tuned for our review first thing in the morning) and features the voice talents of Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Alfred Molina and Peter Stormare.
