J.J. Abrams Promises Something “Big” For Star Wars Celebration

After the release of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, the J.J. Abrams flick has been kind of quiet. Now, before the release of the film on December 18 there are a few moments on the calendar that we suspect will feature some serious Star Wars presence. There’s the Disney fan fest D23 and of course July’s Comic-Con.

But, there is also an event called Star Wars Celebration. This year it promises to be a bit more exciting than past years, simply because there is the first Star Wars movie in years and years to dominate the topics at the fest.

J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Marshall have promised that they will “kick off the show in a big way.”

Now, does that mean trailer? Does that mean footage? Or maybe, a bit of both with what would be the first true public appearance by members of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast?!

Star Wars Celebration takes place in April in Anaheim and Movie Fanatic will be there to bring you anything and everything Star Wars as it happens.

Star Wars Quotes

Padmé: [crying] Anakin, you're breaking my heart! And you're going down a path I cannot follow!
Anakin Skywalker: Because of Obi-Wan?
Padmé: Because of what you've done... what you plan to do! Stop! Stop now; come back... I love you!

Supreme Chancellor: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"?
Anakin Skywalker: No.
Supreme Chancellor: I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
Anakin Skywalker: He could actually save people from death?
Supreme Chancellor: The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Anakin Skywalker: What happened to him?
Supreme Chancellor: He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.
