For fans of the 1990s TV show and then big screen effort that chronicles the adventures of The Power Rangers, the debut of the film Power/Rangers might be pure bliss.
Sure, it’s darker. It’s more violent. But, it seems to be a perfect follow-up to see what happened to these kids who were recruited to become what are essentially killers of alien invaders.
Producer Adi Shankar (The Punisher) and director Joseph Kahn (Torque) even got some big names, James Van Der Beek and Katee Sackhoff, to play former Power Rangers who are all sorts of grown up and on opposite sides of a struggle (that is insinuated began on the TV show back in the day).
Check out what they’re up to now as we have the full movie, and you better watch it before it disappears.
Yup, that’s right SCG Power Rangers LLC (the group who owns the property) is gearing up for a lawsuit that will force Shankar and Kahn to remove the film. It’s not necessarily where the company wanted to see the franchise go.
In fact, they are planning a big screen reboot of The Power Rangers property. It is currently slated for release July 22, 2016 from Lionsgate.
