It’s Disney animation turned live action movie craziness and we could not be happier. After the amazing work they did when you watch Maleficent online, one could see why Disney next tackled the animated classic Cinderella. We’ve seen the Kenneth Branagh-directed flick and it is astounding (our review comes on release day, March 13).

Audiences will also get a look at the live action Beauty and the Beast coming soon, with Emma Watson set to play Belle and Dan Stevens cast to portray the Beast. And now, how about a little Dumbo live action?

We have news that Tim Burton has been tapped to bring a live action Dumbo to the big screen for Disney. While we wait for that Beetlejuice sequel to take more of a shape, we’re thrilled to hear that Burton will be the cinematic circus master to tell the story of the elephant pup with the larger-than-life ears who learns to fly and teaches us all a valuable lesson or two along the way.

The screenplay will be provided by Transformers scribe Ehren Kruger and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it will be a combo of live-action with CGI. After all, as we all know, elephants cannot really fly!

The original Disney animated classic was released in 1941. We have no word on a release date for Burton’s Dumbo, but we will keep you posted on all the information.
