One of the dreams of Walt Disney for his world of the future was fully operational jet packs. There are about a million other aspects of Disney's imagination that are all over Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney, but it’s hard to argue that a highlight isn’t the contraption that you strap to your back and fly through the air with.
Disney has released a clip from the upcoming May 22 release that shows off Clooney’s character Frank as a child. The science prodigy has invented a jet pack and up until this point in the movie, the contraption hasn’t fully worked. Suddenly, it does!
Britt Robertson and Hugh Laurie also star in the film from Oscar-winning director Brad Bird (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Incredibles).
Tomorrowland follows Robertson’s teen, who finds a small pin that transfers her to another world, known as Tomorrowland. She seeks out Clooney’s character (who is now a fully grown adult) because he’s supposedly been there before. And soon after she finds him, the two are on the run as killer robots are tracking them for elimination. What have they discovered and why are they a threat?
