David Bowie: Golden Globe Nominated Performer Dead at 69

David Bowie has died.

The talented artist, once nominated for a Golden Globe for his original song for the film Cat People in 1982, had been battling cancer, according to a statement on his social media accounts: 

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."

Bowie had roles in many different movies during his prolific career, most notably in The Man Who Fell to EarthThe HungerLabyrinth,  and The Last Temptation of Christ

Bowie's music has been in featured in countless films and television series over the decades. 

Whether you were a fan of Bowie's from his musical endeavors or his acting, he was always fond of performing, bringing to life another persona in the early 70s with Ziggy Stardust.

We're sure his contribution to the entertainment industry will continue on long after his death.
