Lt. Dan Taylor is Forrest Gump's commanding officer in Vietname.  Once back home, Lt. Dan joins Forrest on his shrimping boat to help him build his company.  Lt. Dan helps Forrest invest his money in Apple and makes sure Forrest never has to work again.
