Shelby is the more laid-back of the two sisters and takes her parent's separation in stride. She tries to reason with her sister, Eva.

The groom seems to be the one who gets the bad end of the deal when his bride becomes obsessed with her parents marriage. She doesn't give any time to her own.

Eva's parents, played by James Brolin and Jane Seymour, tell their daughters shortly after the wedding that they are separating. Eva makes it her mission to get them back together.

Eva and Charlie get married in a simple ceremony after years of dating. Eva wants to mirror her own marriage after the marriage of her parents.
