Chris Rock
Chris Rock is a stand-up comic, actor, screenwriter, producer, and director from Andrews, South Carolina. Rock got his start doing stand-up comedy when he was discovered by Eddie Murphy. Murphy took Rock under his wing and gave him his film debut in Beverly Hills Cop II.
Shortly after, Chris Rock became a cast memeber on Saturday Night Live in 1990. It was after Rock left SNL in 1993 that his stand-up comedy career really took off with successful HBO comedy specials such as Big Ass Jokes in 1994, Bring the Pain in 1996, and 1999's Bigger & Blacker. It was these comedy specials that make Rock a household name and got him parts in films.
Rock becgan starring in movies such as Beverly Hills Ninja, Letha Weapon 4, Nurse Betty, The Longest Yard, and most recently as writer and director of I Think I Love My Wife.
Rock also currently has a show on in CW network, Everyone Hates Chris, which he produces and narrates. The show is based roughly on his life growing up.
