John Lithgow was born in Rochester, New York and attended Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1967.
This smarty pants then went on to perform on Broadway in 1973 in The Changing Room, for which he received a Tony!
Lithgow made his big screen debut in 1979 in All That Jazz. However, his much more known roles came in 1983 in the movie remake of the Twilight Zone and his role in The World According to Garp that would make Lithgow.
Lithgow is probably best known for his starring role on the hit television show, 3rd Rock from the Sun.
