Ariadne: Why is it so important to dream?
Cobb: Because, in my dreams we are together.
Ariadne: Are these the 'experiments' you do every night? You're trying to keep her alive, aren't you? You can't just create a prison of memories. Do you really think that could contain her?
Cobb: You were not supposed to see that! This has nothing to do with you!
Ariadne: Nothing to do with me? We're supposed to be sharing dreams, here!
Cobb: Not these. These are my dreams.
[Confused] Wait, Who's subconscious are we going through exactly?
I just want to understand.
[contemplating her totem] An elegant solution for keeping track of reality.
Arthur: Quick, give me a kiss!
[She kisses him and then looks around]
Ariadne: They're still looking at us.
Arthur: Yeah, it's worth a shot.
Cobb: You create the world of the dream. We bring the subject into that dream and fill it with their sub-conscious.
Ariadne: How could I aquire enough details to make them think that it is reality?
Cobb: See dreams, they feel real while we're in them right? Its only when we wake up then we realize that something was actually strange!
Professor: Mr. Cobb has a job offer he would like to discuss with you.
Ariadne: Some kind of work placement?
Cobb: Not exactly.
Professor: Mr. Cobb has a job offer. He would like to discuss it with you.
Ariadne: What? Kind of Work Placement?
Cobb: Not exactly!
Cobb: We create the world of a dream. We bring a subject into that dream and they fill it with their secrets.
Ariadne: Then you break in and steal it?
Cobb: Well, it's not strictly speaking legal.
