It's so absurd, even the color of his tie betrays him.

Walter Sparrow

Walter Sparrow: Chapter 23. You can call me Fingerling. My real name is Walter. Walter Paul Sparrow. What you've read so far is not the whole truth. Much has been changed to protect the innocent... and the guilty. I once read that the only philosophical question that matters is whether or not to commit suicide. I guess that makes me a philosopher. You can say it was my inheritance. After my mother's death, my father couldn't cope. He didn't leave a not... just a number. That number followed me from foster home to foster home till college when I met her: Laura Tollins. I thought she'd help me forget my father's number. It was a mistake to think I could escape it. I loved her. And I thought she loved me. Until my father's number returned to haunt me. That fucking number... When I circled every 23rd letter of her note... it became clear. The number had gone after me. And now it wanted her. I was right. She was in danger. I just didn't realize the danger was me. What began as a suicide note, turned into something more. Much, much more.

Dolores Umbridge: [Harry has come in to do his detention] You're going to be doing some lines for me, Mr. Potter.
[Potter opens his bag for his quill but Umbridge stops him]
Dolores Umbridge: No, not with your quill. You're going to be using a rather special one of mine. Now, I want you to write "I must not tell lies."
Harry Potter: How many times?
Dolores Umbridge: Let's see... As long as it takes for the message to sink in.
Harry Potter: You haven't given me any ink.
Dolores Umbridge: Oh, you won't need any ink.

Severus Snape: You won't last two seconds if he invades your mind.
Harry Potter: I'm not weak!
Severus Snape: Then prove it!

Harry Potter... You will lose... everything.

Lord Voldemort

Severus Snape: [to Harry] In the past it was often of the Dark Lords pleasure to invade the minds of his victims, creating visions designed to torture them into madness, only extracting the last exquisite ounce of agony, only when he had them beging for death would he finally... kill them. Used properly the power of Occlumency will sheild you from access or influence. In these lessons, I will attempt to penetrate your mind, you will attempt to resist. Perpare yourself!
[Harry sits up. Snape raises wand]
Severus Snape: Legilimens!

We've got to be able to defend ourselves, and if Umbridge refuses to teach us how, we need someone who will.

Hermione Granger

If it was good news, he would've called us.

Ethel Shatford

Dale 'Murph' Murphy: So, I guess you're the big hero, huh?
David 'Sully' Sullivan: You would have done the same for me. Isn't that what I'm supposed to say?
Dale 'Murph' Murphy: You can say what you want, but... I'm sure glad you know how to swim.
David 'Sully' Sullivan: Well, that's real big of you, Murph.
Dale 'Murph' Murphy: It's all I can manage right now. I'll work on it. All right?

C'MON, YOU BITCH!

Captain Billy Tyne

Alexander McAnally III: Dash into shore, cut across shipping lanes...
Edie Bailey: This is a hurricane coming straight at us!
Melissa Brown: Let me reduce sails, Sandy, or even go back home.
Alexander McAnally III: This is my boat. We're gonna ride this thing out, not for fun, for safety. Do what I've always done: go with the flow.

Melissa Brown: This weather fax just came in. Edie, have a look at this.
Edie Bailey: We have got to head in now! Put in at Watch Hill!
Alexander McAnally III: In this stuff, harbor's too dangerous.
Melissa Brown: Dangerous?
