Remember the Titans arrived on screens 15 years ago and rocked our world.
The film starred Denzel Washington as the real-life Coach Boone, the black coach who led the first integrated football team to win a state championship.

Brick By Brick
In real life it was a toilet that was thrown through Coach Boone's window meant to scare him off. Filmmakers thought that would create some laughs from the audience in a scene that needed to be 100-percent serious. So, they substituted a brick. That was clearly a good call.

Boone Unarmed
In the film, Boone comes out with a rifle after the brick is thrown through the window. In real life, he did not own a gun and was against guns.

A Superstar Makes His Screen Debut
We all know about Denzel Washington being riveting in Remember the Titans. But, do you remember who made his big screen splash in one of their first “adult” roles to date? How about Ryan Gosling?! Ryan Reynolds was in it too!

For Director, Football Was Another Sport
For foreign director Boaz Yakin, he knew nothing about American football. To him football referred to the sport we call soccer. Upon hearing this, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, wanting Yakin above all others to tell this story, sent the helmer to a two-week football camp where he emerged well versed in the game.

Georgia On My Mind
Alexandria, Virginia was the location for the real story and the struggles of the race relations that played out on screen. But, due to filming demands, the entire film Remember the Titans was shot in Georgia.
