15 Totally Awesome Movie Posters

From Alfred Hitchcock and his stellar design of Vertigo to Steven Spielberg's ability to get us excited for his films, such as E.T. and Jaws, the movie poster is one cherished cinematic piece of movie tease.
We've compiled a list of 15, from the early days of Hollywood to ones that are more recent. They all share one thing: They compel us to go to the cinema.
1. Star Wars
Star Wars hit theaters in the mid-1970s and became an immediate sensation. Think that had anything to do with this poster?
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
Raiders of the Last Ark had it all. It put its star, Harrison Ford, front and center and even teased the story around him.
3. Back to the Future
The key to a good poster is to introduce the audience to what they're in for. Back to the Future did that impressively.
4. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial
E.T. chose the less is more approach with its poster. An instant classic was born!
5. Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park let you know that dinos would be front and center when you went to the movies. And by putting the T-Rex as the face of your dinosaur movie, a legion of dino fans signed up immediately.
6. Blade Runner
Blade Runner has to be on this list! And we sense a theme here too, how many of these will feature Harrison Ford's mug?!
