The movie starts in Antarctica and we meet our “boys” as youngsters. And immediately their character traits are fully formed. And we get to see Private being born!

A New March of the Penguins
Werner Herzog narrates/plays a documentary filmmaker who is chronicling a March of the Penguins and inadvertently leads our fearsome foursome to their destiny.

The film then fast forwards to Madagascar 3 right near the end – including a joke about the penguins being sick of hearing I Like to Move It.
Meet Evil Dave the Octopus
The gang winds up in Venice and we’re introduced to our villain, an Octopus named Dave played by John Malkovich, and we learn why he hates these penguins so darn much.
A Venice Chase Scene Rocks
Soon after, Benedict Cumberbatch and his North Wind heroes are introduced with a crazy chase scene involving bikes, gondolas and other Venetian vehicles.
