9 Memorable Wes Craven Movies

7. Shocker

Shocker
Uh oh, the serial killer is coming back to life after being put to death by way of sucking the life out of your electrical applicances! He's got vengeance on his mind. Mitch Pileggi from The X-Files plays the killer and Peter Berg his prey. This is also a comedic take on horror, so don't be afraid to watch it. Yes, I saw it in the theater when it first came out. Old school, yo.

8. Red Eye

Red Eye
Cillian Murphy was a scary dude in the skies terrorizing Rachel McAdams. This was an enjoyable thriller and another I never realized that Wes Craven directed. It's times like these that remind you to take a moment and look over the credits of what you're watching, because you never know what ties you're missing to other favorites in your library.

9. Scream

Scream
Craven directed the first Scream movie in 1996, and all four after that, as well. The franchise is still going strong with a series on MTV. While he was listed as an executive producer, without his directing touch, it's not quite the same Scream we were all used to, but it's still a part of his legacy.

There's no doubt Wes Craven will be missed, and we'll be watching his movies and thinking of his influence on the horror genre, especially, for years to come.
