9 Star Wars Characters That Would Make Great Stand Alone Movies

One of the big complaints about The Phantom Menace is that Darth Maul is not in it for very long. So, can you imagine a stand alone movie solely devoted to that baddie? Yeah, we can -- and it would be awesome. Dream casting: Why mess with what works... Ray Park could still do it.

Samuel L. Jackson gave us such a strong characterization for Mace Windu, it left us wanting more. Like, how did this cat get to sit with all those Jedi? There was something about him that was so darn compelling, we just want to know more. So, a stand alone movie just makes sense. It could take place as an origins story, or even bring back Jackson and give us more of his Phantom Menace era story. Dream casting: Older, still Sam Jackson. Younger, no question, Michael B. Jordan

Think about it, The Phantom Menace through Revenge of the Sith was the origins story of Anakin. A New Hope through Return of the Jedi was the origns story of Luke. Where did Leia come from? We meet her as a newborn in Revenge of the Sith. So, what happened between that and when we meet her as Darth Vader is taking her into custody in Star Wars Episode IV? Now, that, that is a movie!
