The American Film Institute has released its list of the best movies of 2014.

Normally, AFI releases a top 10 list, but this year, not only did they choose 11 films, but they didn't rank them.

This is just a list of the 11 best movies of 2014, according to AFI.

Click through and see who made the grade.

1. American Sniper

American Sniper
Bradley Cooper is getting serious Oscar buzz for his role as the real life Navy SEAL who was the best American Sniper in war history. Clint Eastwood's also getting props for making his best film in years.

2. Birdman

Michael Keaton gets the comeback of the year, which is ironic because that is exactly what happens to his character in Birdman.

3. Boyhood

Boyhood won the Los Angeles Fim Critics award for film of the year, so Richard Linklater's flick is hardly a surprise to be found on AFI's list.

4. Foxcatcher

We think Foxcatcher is a guaranteed lock for a Best Picture nod.

5. The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game
Benedict Cumberbatch rivets in the true story of the man who cracked the Enigma code from the Nazis and helped the Allies win the war. His reward was a war of personal destruction that reduced him to suicide after he was ridiculed for being gay.

6. Interstellar

Christopher Nolan's epic has won over many fans. The film is Nolan's highest grossing non-Batman movie of his career.
