Chris Farley was an actor and comedian from Chicago, Illinois who got his start on Saturday Night Live as a cast member in 1990.  During his Saturday Night Live career, Farley started his film career by making cameos in several comedies including Wayne's World, Coneheads, Wayne's World 2, Airheads, and Billy Madison.

After Farley was released from his SNL contract in 1994, he went on to make two movies with fellow SNL star, David Spade.  The two released Tommy Boy and Black Sheep in 1995 and 1996 respectively.  Both comedies were a big hit and proved Farley was ready to be a star. Farley went to to make Beverly Hills Ninja in 1997.

Unfortunately, Farley died on December 18, 1997 from a drug overdose with a combination of cocaine and heroin.  After his untimely death, his last two movies, Almost Heroes and Dirty Work were released posthumously.
