Geena Davis is an Academy Award-winning actress, writer, and former fashion model.  Davis was working as model when she was discovered by director Sydney Pollack and given the role of April Page in Tootsie in 1982.  Shortly after she was cast in two movies that work mark her breakthrough as a star; The Fly and Beetlejuice.

Now a star, Davis won an Academy Award for her role in The Accidental Tourist.  With her newfound stardom, Davis went on to star in Thelma and Louise, A League of Their Own, and Hero.

Most recently, Davis has starred in two failed television shows, The Geena Davis Show and Commander in Chief.

Cool facts about Geena Davis? She played for America's archery team in 1999 in the Olympics and is a member of Mensa.
