Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to his actor parents, Kirk Douglas and Diana Hill.  Douglas graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1968.

Douglas would quickly have an acting career with his starring role in the TV series, The Streets of San Francisco from 1972 to 1976.  During that time Douglas had a small film career and produced the Academy Award-winning One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in 1975.

Douglas's film career as a star ultimately took off with his starring role in the 1984 Romancing the Stone, a film Douglas also produced.   Douglas would then be in its sequel, The Jewel of the Nile and in his Academy Award-winning role in the 1987 Wall Street.

Other notable roles for this famous actor include The War of the Roses, Basic Instinct, Disclosure, The Game, Traffic, and so many more.

In his personal life, Michael Douglas is best known for his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones, an actress 25 years his junior.  The two have two children together, Dylan Michael Douglas and Carys Zeta Douglas.   Dylan appeared alongside his father, step-brother, grandmother and grandfather in the 2003 It Runs in The Family.
