Born in Brooklyn, Mickey Rooney move with his mother to Hollywood in 1925.  Rooney became a child actor when his mom auditioned him for the role of Mickey McGuire in a series of short films.  After Rooney got the job, he was in 78 comedies from 1927 to 1935.  Rooney's next big stint was as character, Andy Hardy after the success of a Family Affair in 1937.  Rooney played Hardy a total of fifteen times, thirteen of which were made between 1937 and 1946.   Other notable roles of Rooney include Boys Town, Babes in Arms, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Requiem for a Heavyweight, and The Black Stallion.

Still working till this day, in 2008, Rooney will be entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the actor with the longest career on both stage and screen.
